Are humans just cold by nature?

Maybe I'm just a cynical guy or I think about things way too much or it's my sleep and depression problems getting to me but are people really worth saving? If the end of the world is near, would it be worth trying to save a race of violent, cold, disgusting pigs? Turn on the news and some sick **** s and kills an innocent little girl. Just a while ago I read a question hear on yahoo.answers, the girl was suicidal and this guy just replies "bye" and another called her an emo kid and to get over herself. Sure some kids just want attention but how do you know if this is some emo kid or a person with a serious problem? What if this is someone with problems and he or she kills themselves? What then? My friends don't know the difference between depressed people and those dumb kids in tight pants with eye liner. Even they don't take my problems seriously, I guess an anxiety disorder and spending time in a mental rehabilitation hospital ain't enough. It's like they don't feel at all so who cares if their tortured and murdered? I guess a 17 year old doesn't have actual problems, so it seems. I watched something on tv about bullying and these people just got some sick twisted pleasure out of hurting someone. Are they human? Disgusting s. Throughout history people have done horrible things. The best example and most thought of I presume is Hitler and the Holocaust. I watched a thing about the IKA(a combo group of Nazi's and KKK members), those sick *****. I thought: wouldn't it be great if something like Quentin Tarentinos: "Inglourious Basterds" would happen but of course that's just my wild imagination running. Shouldn't we just exterminate bad people but of course we can't. Everyone is capable of the most terrible things, especially me. I ain't no liberal hippie, I think the world would be great without and conservatives and whacked out religious people and serial killers and rapists and so on. If it were up to me, they'd all be killed but of course what would be the difference between me and them? I'd become the exact thing I hate. Maybe cold hearted pricks are onto something... maybe if we're cold hearted monsters we would not feel pain. We would kill emotion, we wouldn't have to feel but if we ceased to feel, would we lose our humanity?
