Does the younger generation even study anymore?

I am only 26, so I am by no means a part of the older generation. The longer I stay on this site it has become more and more evident that many younger people do not use dictionaries, thesaurus, encyclopedias or even read to gain knowledge. Has the internet and sites like this corrupted our youth. It almost seems like they do not know how to crack open a book and read. Daily, someone comes on this site and ask how to factor a math problem, do my algebra, and even simpler things like what is the electoral college, or what does Congress do. I won't even get started on grammar and punctuation. What do you think about this?
