Does he like me?!? [more than a friend]?

so i have this guy friend and up until now i never liked him. he sits behind me in this one cl we have together and always draws on my back with the back of his pen. i turn around and we stare at each other for a few seconds until someone else looks at us. we talk to each other causally in the hallway, and hes in my homeroom also. yesterday my friend asked me if i liked him, and i told her that he was just a friend. but now after i thought about it i always feel safe around him, and i get erflies in my stomach when he talks to me. he is also cute smart and funny our formal is coming up and i wonder what i should do? and even if he doesn't like me i don't want to ruin out friendship.
