How do I get my baby to take the pacifier?

I neither agree, or disagree with paci's... my own child took one and gave it up shortly before her 2nd birthday... sure, it was hard very early on when they dropped them and I was constantly cleaning and replacing to her.... I dont have a solution for the here and now, but I can say, it will get easier as he learns to replace his own paci....
