well they are both types of CELL DIVISIONS. Mitosis is when there is only one cell needed to divide and meiosis is when there is two cells, gametes. mitosis involves in aual where you have the identical cell as the parent and it occures mainly in plants. meiosis involves in ual where you have a different cell to the parents and occurs in animals.
