Does The Great Gatsby leave any shred of hope in the novel?

Fitzgerald's novel undeniably suggests that the American Dream is an illusion or gimmick that creates desperation and ultimately ends in tragedy. However, does he leave any shred of hope in this novel? If so, who or what is hopeful about American Life? Please Provide a clear argument that is supported with multiple examples in the book.
